In 2005, NCTE (ERC) granted recognition to Kartik Oraon College, Gumla for starting B.Ed programme of one year duration from the academic session 2005-2006 and onwards with an annual intake of 100 students vide letter no. ERC/7-57, 1 (I)/2005/10125 (I) Code No – APE00295 dated 21-06-2005 after “No Objection” by the Department of Human Resource Development, Government of Jharkhand. This one-year course has been pursued till the 2014-20015 session.

ERC, NCTE has continued recognition for B.Ed programme of two-years duration from 2015 with intake of two units each of 50 students as per NCTE 2014 regulation. This B.Ed programme will run in the B.Ed campus at a distance of 0.5 km from the main campus of the college. As par NCTE 2014 regulation, the college has facilitated faculty and staff members and all required amenities, infrastructure under composite scheme.

Eligibility

1. Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering (with condition) graduates and postgraduates (in approved subjects only) may apply with College Leaving Certificates/ Department Leaving Certificates.
2. An applicant in case of SC/ST/OBC should have obtained at least 45% of marks and in case of General should have obtained al least 50% marks in aggregate at the bachelor’s degree (Honours/General) examination from a recognized university.
3. The applicant should be at least of 18 years on 1st July of current session.
4. Applicant who have appeared for University examinations and are waiting for results.
5. Applicant who have received the marks from the cross list which in not duly certified by the authorized signatory of the institution/university.
6. Student who have passed degree (Honours/General) in vocational courses.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction will be Hindi/English. Examination may be written in Hindi or English except in language subject.
